Universidad Laboral de Gijón/Xixón is part of the Tentative list of Spain in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Universidad Laboral de Gijón/Xixón is an extraordinarily large building complex built as a learning center for orphans during the Franco dictatorship. It was run by Catholic religious orders and meant to serve as a self-sufficient 'ideal city'.
